01.   ZIA HAIDER RIZVI - Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan

Zia Haider Rizvi is a senior tax lawyer and Senior Partner in Rizvi and Company, formed in 1971. Practicing Lawyer for last 35 years.

He has done law from Pakistan and has specialised in Fiscal, Commercial, Accountancy and Banking Laws from London.

He has appeared in many of the major tax and allied cases and successfully represent the clients before ITAT, High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He advises clients on a wide range of tax matters which includes banks, housing societies, hotels, chemical industries, steel industries and pharmaceutical manufacturers and well-known traders of the Country.

Has widely traveled abroad and participated in various International Conferences. He contributes many Articles on tax matters in leading Law Journals and Newspapers which demonstrates his passion for justice and positive contribution to the society and legal system. There is long list of reported judgments of the represented cases in his credit.

He remained minister for Excise and Taxation, Punjab (Pakistan) during the interim period of Malik Meraj Khalid, Care-taker Prime Minister of Pakistan in the year 1996/97.

He did commendable job of increasing and collecting the revenue over Rs. 20 crores above the target in the short span of his Ministry.

He has contributed to a number of publications and seminars on tax matter. He has authored a tax book on Income Tax Ordinance, 1979. He was President Lahore Tax Bar Association for 1983-84 and 1987-88 session. He was Member Executive Committee Lahore High Court Bar in 1980 and 2004.

He is Honorary Consul General of Thailand at Lahore (Pakistan) since 1996.

He was Director of Finance, Asian Area Committee. SKAL International Club 2004-05.

He also Represented Pakistan to Non-Government Organization Conference at United Nations H.O. New York on various occasions.
